   Part three.

 Update and observations.

    A chance encounter with a service engineer who came to service my photocopier prompted me to write this.   He said the awful events of this F & M outbreak brought to mind a chance remark by a taxi driver at Heathrow two years ago, about a fare he had just taken to the car park, which at the time, it was so strange. His fare, some kind of official, said he had been abroad buying up huge quantities of old railway sleepers.  At the time it was inexplicable but not now ! Even stranger his daughter had a friend who six months later spent a holiday in one of the Arab states and came back with a story she couldn’t understand, to the effect that the word out there, a great talking point, was that Britain was a tinder box of F&M about to explode. What’s that about 2+2 making 4 ?   Which very clearly links up with information I have had from Donald Martin of the Federation of Small Businesses that he had been told that both Lithuania and New Zealand earlier last year knew that Britain had F&M.    Which ties in with other similar reports from New Zealand. Then there is the research laboratory set up as a result of recommendation after the last F&M outbreaks, which never did any research and surprisingly closed down two years ago by the present Government.   Who says there hasn't been something very sinister going on all that time, inline with the EU’s edict that Britain should only be a crop producing area and the Labour party’s inherent dislike of farming calling for the total destruction of all livestock in Britain?  And what about the NFU’s part in all this ?  Bearing that in mind, what better way to achieve that goal than letting F&M get out of control as widely as possible when the killing policy would have the greatest effect and the perpetrators of that subversion are able to hide behind the fact it is EU policy.  Similarly they have done it with Salmonella and BSE. Such sinister undertones as between and within Whitehall and Brussels and a weak manipulative government threaten the very fabric of our society and our accepted freedoms generated over many centuries. That a comprehensive independent public enquiry is called for is not in any doubt and a ground swell in that direction is building up from all quarters.   In Europe with such weak government, and most likely with any government, we would become just another vassal under the domination of those who control Europe.  But what of Europe when a German Eurocrat considers we are daft the way we implement every regulation coming out of Brussels with glee, often reinforced when the rest of Europe only uses them selectively for their own particular circumstances and needs.   It seems patently obvious that those undertones have been influential not only in the way the F&M epidemic has been handled but indications that they may very well have been used to bring undue pressure on politicians to conform, rather than take actions which would have been to the country’s great advantage.   Take for example the report in the Soil Association Summer issue of its magazine that early discussion with Tony Blair indicated he was in favour of a vaccination policy to bring the disease under control without all the slaughtering. What indeed changed his mind ? These considerations alone call for a full scale public enquiry as with BSE and the Rail Crash.   It also calls into question very seriously as to whether there is any merit in being a part of the EU for it seems patently clear we can never have any influence on the way it is run, and we certainly do not need membership for commercial purposes now any more than we did just after the war when we voted for a trading relationship only, hopefully to avoid the possibility of another war.   Trade with us is as important to them as trade with them is to us. Take for example the lamb trade where the French for reasons best known to themselves prefer our lambs, selling theirs to Belgium who then sell on to Germany.   So this frenzy to get into Europe seems to be motivated by multi-conglomerates and those who are in this country but not of this country and have no allegiance to this country let alone it constitution and all that we hold dear as we of this country do.   In calling for a full public enquiry it must be free to incorporate both Salmonella and BSE issues, both of which have had a devastating effect not just on farming, but indirectly on the whole population. F&M must not be considered in isolation when its impact will be lost but considered as the watershed of a century and a half of mismanagement and dishonesty by MAFF, associated civil services and by Governments in the peripheral way they have handled all these public artificially created syndromes. Syndromes which have resulted in the slaughter of millions of perfectly healthy harmless animals and birds, the destruction of peoples livelihoods and indeed their very lives, and the wastage of resources all coupled with the astronomical wastage of money the likes of which almost defies contemplation.   This is now highlighted by the manner in which this continuing F&M outbreak is currently being handled in the publicity field. The few reported cases hardly mentioned in the press and media, hide the hundreds of thousands of animals still being slaughtered, the hundreds of farms being taken out, coupled with the cruelty and utter disregard for any form of bio-security, is in effect a derogation of what we consider to be democracy.   In this light the Government must stand condemned and in this light it now looks like the NFU is going to be made the scapegoat. They however have nobody to blame except themselves and to come out of it with any sort of credibility heads must roll. Farming does and increasingly will need such a body – do they have the bottle? Time will tell, but time is rapidly running out.   For ten years or more a whole culture based on Maff’s dishonesty has grown up worldwide over the salmonella and BSE issues and now contaminates this F&M issue. It is not based on fact or common sense but purely a political expediency. Surely this F&M crisis is the watershed and offers the opportunity to expose this most diabolical of any of political dishonesty and innuendo which abounds. Channel 4 six o’clock News, excellent in its content except for one chance remark about BSE. Its stupidity was so horrendous that had it not been so serious it would have been hilarious. Ash contaminated with prions from prion riddled animals must be the ultimate in ignorance and stupidity doubtless perpetrated by the source from which Channel 4 gets it information, initiated and fuelled by scientists ignorant of the subject, instead of listening to Professor Michael Crawford and others who are world renowned experts on the subject of brain disorders.  BSE cannot spread, since like Crazy Chick Disease and Scrapie, it is a nutritional disorder of the brain. The role of the prions is not fully understood except that they are present probably in all living bodies since they are a breakdown product. They are probably a symptom but certainly not in the normal sense an infectious body. They are a protein and like all proteins would be destroyed in the digestive tract. By the way as I said earlier Michael Crawford did inform the Government who chose to ignore this advice.  Now because the authorities refuse to accept his advice they are in a flat spin over the 24-month-old cow with it. Remember Mad (or crazy) Cow Disease is just the same as Crazy (or mad) Chick Disease. But because, and only because, chicks are so young the condition is curable, i.e. reversible by correcting the diet, a diet deficient in essential brain nutrients. This clearly indicates that all these encephalophies are dietary related and nothing to do with any kind of infection as is currently portrayed. Finally in regard to this matter as a whole, Governments and officials worldwide appear in total confusion, all feeding off one another in a morass of deception and innuendo. It gives every indication of stemming from this country via Brussels, with its roots in the Tolworth Phenomenon.

 Part Four

An hypothesis of immunity. . . .  disprove it if you can.

An update on the running saga.

A subject, a hypothesis, so it would seem not even in the equation of matters concerning this FMD crisis, and which equally applies to BSE and Salmonella, it has every reason to be at the root of this present crisis. But what exactly is this crisis which has cost the country upwards of £20 billion, is destroying and bedevilling its farmers and rural Britain, but is only evident in certain fairly defined areas with large ones in particular perhaps stranger and certainly nothing to do with slaughter policy, almost the whole of Scotland. It in itself is a disease only of cloven hoofed animals having no effect on other creatures and certainly no effect on human beings. So why the Food Standards Agency has involved itself and since the meat from such animals is harmless, beggars belief. It is purely a vetinary problem caused by a virus of which there are seven strains.  There is no doubt it is world wide even in countries who protest too vehemently that they don’t have it, whereas independent reports clearly demonstrate that they do.
The lies, innuendos and hypocrisy is profound, no more so than in this country and the E U.  All to what end ? A mythical disease-free status to support a highly questionable, mainly French, export market of live animals for human consumption. A market of low national value, heavily subsidised on a highly undesirable and outmoded headage basis, and greatly disliked on welfare grounds. A subsidy which should have been addressed long ago instead of the nasty way it is now being dealt with by this particularly nasty Government. A status supported by and undesirably benefiting a very privileged few, which to date has had little or no effect whatsoever, whilst literally holding the country to ransom. A disease, a virus, comparable in its behaviour to the common cold or influenza, with a potential to be nasty but inevitably over a period of time becomes attenuated naturally. The result being a low risk infection with the odd case or so popping up now and again, easily misdiagnosed, unrecognised and even hidden, and even pockets such as we have now, doubtless due to the immune system being impaired, but more, of that later. This calls for a drastic change in the archaic egotistical policy on breeding which should be on the basis of immune stock and not on the mythical disease free status which is totally hypothetical and hypocritical.  It should be a selling point not a disadvantage and on that basis calls very seriously into question the dubious motives of those who support the Killing Regime and oppose other controls especially vaccination, with arguments which border on criminal deception.
This is all well illustrated by an article in the Veterinary Record of 12/5/01 by Dr. Donaldson of Pirbright and others on the uncontrolled aerial transmissions.  On the basis of 10 to infect sheep and cattle then 160 units are required to infect pigs, with an exhalation of virus of the same order. For example 100 highly infected cattle would infect nothing beyond 200 yards, and it would take 1,000 pigs to cause infection 5 Km away but only down wind in ideal transmissible conditions.
Thus the supposed threat to the pig population in East Yorkshire from widely dispersed sheep further west is nothing more than a smokescreen for killing another 80,000 animals in that area.
Just as is the smokescreen of Bio-security to cover up official incompetence and stupidity and gives the Ministry officials the excuse to act like the Gestapo of  wartime Germany.  The amount of virus transmitted in this “ mechanical” way is marginal at its worst, and its infectivity no more than has been going on all the time with no way of preventing it, even if it was more serious than it is.  One must bear in mind that sheep are hardly affected, pigs highly immune and cattle although susceptible show the symptoms very quickly and an outbreak can readily be curtailed with a very carefully controlled culling and vaccination policy available to be used as appropriate, all on the basis of a properly constituted risk assessment policy.
 In contrast the Dutch have achieved their perceived goal with the use of a vaccination policy, albeit with an E U manipulated slaughter policy denounced by the Dutch Ministry but which under E U rules does not apply to cattle but was forced on them by the E U.
 However one thing is for sure, a vaccination policy was at one point on the cards with a highly detailed schedule produced by Elm Farm Research Unit specifically for the purpose and supported by Drs Kitchen, Donaldson and the N Z Massey University Epicentre team. Part of this did not suit the aspirations of a group of what one can only describe as a rather cosy set up of ‘old boys’ which seem to have been fronted by a certain Prof. Roy Anderson. In a rather unsavoury manner they outflanked, out manoeuvred and ousted the Massey team who cleared off back to New Zealand. This is documented in considerable detail in a recent article by Richard North and an earlier one by Jane Barriboli, which exposes the conniving which went on in those echelons of power. But one has to wonder what other sinister influences and pressures were at work in the shadowy corridors of Whitehall and Brussels, and even between Brown and Gill whose paranoiac dislike of vaccination was only too clear when seen on TV.  For example as, I understand, at a ‘policy’ meeting in Brussels and reported by someone who was there, Fischler made it clear that, as he put it, the “ English Region “should be a non-livestock producing area.¹
 So where does that leave Blair and his Labour parties transparent dislike of farming One cannot but wonder how that affected their policy on FMD a heaven sent opportunity to get rid of as many animals as possible, with a cynical disregard as to the effect it would have on the farming community, the cruelty it would inflict on the animals and no thought whatsoever on the damage it might do to Rural Britain in general. Little wonder they have the temerity to forbid a public enquiry but a backlash will eventually force the issue.  It is not going to go away.
  Now the hot-spots where “ MAFF” in its study puts the blame on, as they describe them, irresponsible farmers moving stock around but typically failing to address the real cause of these hot spots and the reason why large areas of England and most of Scotland are on the surface clear. First these hot-spots are heavily over-stocked for which the farmers can hardly be blamed, but where quite irrationally officialdom does. For it does not take into account the fact that for survival they are locked into a subsidy system paradoxically created by Tony Blair’s own party after the war, and never re-assessed. This system on a headage basis was designed to do just what these farmers are now being blamed for, for the purpose of providing cheap food mainly for the benefit of the urban population.  However this situation has now been exacerbated by the supermarkets cheap food policies in their price war by buying the cheapest food from wherever they can get it and still make massive profits, the producer at the end of the chain suffering. That is the main contributing factor in the creation of these overstocked hot-spots, which is where the immune hypothesis kicks in,  They are all rough grazing areas and where in Scotland it is more like acres per sheep, in the hot-spots it is sheep per acre. This makes grazing areas management difficult and dependant on regular movement of stock to preserve them, and with the overstocking and lack on money to buy enough or any supplementary feeding, nutrition levels are inevitably low and immune systems poor. Thus any restriction on essential movement of stock far from preventing the spread only aggravates the situation. But then perhaps this is exactly the situation the Government wants to enable it to pursue it killing policy and apportioning blame onto farmers.  It has happened wherever there has been an “ outbreak “ with animals dying of starvation and have to be killed on welfare grounds, a situation where if it was an individual would be prosecuted and even jailed. Yes killings may get rid of the hot-spot but not the disease. It is time officialdom acknowledged this is a world-wide problem and addressed it as such.

Summary:
So there we have it, unholy alliances a manipulative Government a prime Minister who constitutionally and by his own cognizance is in charge of and responsible for their policies but continually ducks out of being publicly answerable for their problems and failures. Like all viruses, it has the potential to be highly contagious, but in this case is of low virulence due to natural attenuation over many years. This means it can infect and multiply in a group of animals very surreptitiously. Thus in poor stock symptoms are more visible, whereas in healthy stock there are probably and perhaps certainly no signs at all.  Thus this mythical disease-free status can never be realistically attained  There can be little doubt it is endemic backed up by the numerous reports over the past two years from abroad which cannot derive from figments of imagination, and it is evident that its presence was known professionally. It is a worldwide problem and needs to be addressed on a worldwide basis.  The only practical solution is to breed from disease resistant stock backed up by a proper vaccination policy, and nobody can do such a breeding policy better than we can. So what is wrong with that? It would get rid of all the restrictions and misery farmers are afflicted with, get the country back on its feet, and eliminate all the corruption which is currently erupting.  Patently this is not what the Government wants which would thwart its policy of killing as many animals as possible no matter how the horrendous consequences might be.   Nothing could be more compelling for a public enquiry and a vote of no confidence in the House. The first has to come and will come about.  The second will fail but be a monumental embarrassment for the Government.

Conclusion:

In all three cases, Salmonella, BSE and F&M were all founded and compounded variously by political and commercial connivance and incompetence and rooted in the mindset policy of the Killing Fields. In each and every case the prime cause has been a serious incompetence of the immune systems of the birds and animals. In the case of salmonella due to a very restrictive breeding regime, in BSE due to carelessly formulated rations exacerbated by a misdirected use by irresponsible scientists for financial gain, and F&M is nothing more or less than a fortuitously politically created crisis, with strong Euro overtones to denude this country of its valuable livestock or at least as many as possible for egotistical agendas for the benefit of an elite few. It is highly evident world wide generally professionally and probably in political circles, that this virus is and probably always has been endemic, but variously kept under wraps. Isn’t it curious that just as the stories about this country being a tinder box of F&M, the Government started to source supplies of firewood here and abroad, just as their party political dislike of farming was coming onto the scene, coupled with  Fischler¹ and the EU and their hostile White Paper on farming and Rural Britain. Thus with the support of a computer produced prediction model the scene was set and all that was needed was a trigger to set the ball rolling. That came in the shape of a zealous young vet who discovered F&M amongst pigs from Northumberland. How many or how bad didn’t  matter, the Government went ballistic MAFF into its killing mode and Killing Fields were established. A treatment and vaccination policy rejected out of hand, and the bestiality of the officials unrelented. Why is it that when there is a health scare, or a scandal against an individual, the Press and Media go ballistic, yet when such a blatant scandal is attributable to the Government or Ministerial sources they go strangely quiet, mute and stupid and deliberately perverse saying little or nothing which is not acceptable to the hierarchy. What hidden forces are at work, which make a mockery of our supposed democracy? Worse still that goes for the judicial systems as well!

The Killing Fields-part 5.          A tissue of lies.

   In the previous four Killing Fields I have attempted to present the situation in as factual and non-political a way as possible from as wide a range of references as were to hand, together with my own not inconsiderable experiences. Now as a result of the actions of this nastiest of all Governments the electorate have inflicted on the country, the situation has changed and demands that this paper exposes the political intrigue and dishonesty which has taken place and lays the blame where it belongs.  Part six will follow which will be a headline summary together with details of all those with whom I have consulted and / or drawn information from.
   The country held to ransom by political hypocrisy and a tissue of lies, all for party political gain. A contemptuous disregard for advice from world-renowned experts and a flagrant disregard for the law. A situation, which in the US could have landed those involved before the Supreme Court, but with no such facility in this country, the only alternative is a public enquiry or a motion of censure in the House, which of course can be blocked by the same political party.  Surely a situation which needs to be addressed for there should be accountability.
   Whilst that applies in particular to FMD and this country, it equally and variously applies to the EU and the two previous food and health scares of salmonella and eggs and BSE both of which were politically created and unsubstantiated.Disregarding breeding stock in this context the policy adopted, which has nothing to do with the human health, has every appearance of being motivated by egotistical considerations amongst and for the benefit of, an elite few with influential privileged positions of power, for the sole purpose of retaining a lucrative live lamb meat market mainly for the French .  In the process their capacity to lie knows no bounds.  A market to the value of only some £340m. Elm Farm figures which are at great odds with the NFU figures of over £1 billion which seem hardly credible.  A market which is heavily subsidised on a long outmoded headage basis and highly disliked on welfare grounds. A policy which has cost the country some £20 billion over three times the official figure, killed some 12 m animals, again three times the official figures of which 95% were perfectly healthy, and many which would have recovered naturally with minimal after effects. A policy carried out with great brutality and suffering under a surreptitious cloak of secrecy. A policy which to date shows no sign of being effective and inevitably doomed to failure. Next we come to the official conjecture supported by the NFU hierarchy as to how the disease is supposed to have spread from that pig farm in Northumberland, which incidentally was inspected by MAFF first before Christmas with no report of FMD, via Longtown Market in some inexplicable manner, I say inexplicable because the facts just don’t add up at all, clearly indicating it had to have been present long before that.Detected anti-bodies would have been in this country long before that. Indeed it is well known abroad that two years before at least, Britain was a time bomb of FMD MAFF were sourcing firewood at that time together with a computer model which was predicting an outbreak was presented to the Government but dismissed. Indeed there seems to be information that cases have occurred since 1967 but not reported. Also coincidentally that outbreak was in and confined to the N W of England, probably the worst hot spot of this outbreak. If indeed as a whole it was an outbreak as such and not a politically engineered one of enhanced observation based on what was probably a chance observation by a young enthusiastic vet.
  However there seems little doubt that all the indications are that the disease has been endemic since the 1967 outbreak in a naturally attenuated sub-acute form. Just indeed like the common cold virus which is always around, and subject to flare-ups at anytime given the right conditions. That pattern fits the criteria of this outbreak to a T, and gives the lie to the official view that this is some sort of newly introduced very virulent virus with the ability to spread like wildfire indirectly from the actual animals.
That would have produced outbreaks all over the country, which it hasn’t, being confined to the hot spots of which more later. That becomes clear in an article by Dr. Donaldson of Pirbright. That article shows very clearly that aerial transmission is of little significance and very limited. An article in its original form presented to the Government at the outset but studiously ignored, presumably because of nasty hidden and subversive agendas, and published in the May issue of the Veterinary Record, but significantly not reported in the Press or Media. Why ? It makes one wonder !  What hidden hold does the Government have over them?   It shows that on a basis of 10 for sheep and cattle to be infected, pigs require 160 times that amount, making them very immune.  Conversely if pigs do get it then they exhale 160 times the amount of virus whereas sheep which are hardly affected at all exhale little virus, thus spreading is by direct contact and even then very limited. Cattle are much more affected but show symptoms quickly and so an outbreak can be controlled quickly. Thus the lie is given to the official threat that some 80,000 infected sheep in Yorkshire can prove a threat to the pig population further east. Obviously an excuse to kill more animals. In relation to aerial spread, Donaldson records that it would need 1000 highly infected pigs to effect infection up to 5Km. But only downwind and under ideal conditions 100 similarly infected cattle would not pose a threat beyond 200 yards. Relate that to any form of indirect transmission and the whole of this bio-security becomes a nonsence. Indeed nothing more than a smokescreen to hide official dishonesty bungling and incompetent, and other hidden agendas, and questionable reasons best known to themselves, supported by the NFU. Indeed the active amount of virus which could be transmitted indirectly is insignificant, and with the huge amount of modern-day transport, control is impossible, undoubtedly an ongoing situation since the last outbreak. Yes indeed a futile smoke screen.
q   Now we come to the hot spots. These are marginal lands of poor quality grazing which have become heavily overstocked the consequence of a singularly worsening economic climate and caused by a long outmoded subsidy system essential for the maintenance of these areas, calculated on a headage basis, such that the only way to increase vital income is to increase the numbers of stock. Another example of the ineptitude of successive Governments, but particularly this one over the past four years. With insufficient income to purchase supplementary feeding, the end result has been a gradual deteriorating immune system, a greater susceptibility to disease, and a gradual build up not just of the virus but inevitably its virulence as well.
 Just like the common cold, resulting in flare-ups. A situation, no a rat race, created by discreditable Government, whose job it is to address such problems, along with the NFU, both of whom have failed dismally in their duty and betrayed the farming community   and indirectly the whole of rural Britain.
 So there we have it, a brutal chapter of Government dishonesty, incopetence and even subversion. Escalated and engineered into a crisis that in fact never was, by an unscrupulous group of officials and other influential bodies for egotistical aims. There is no secret of this Governments intense dislike of farming, and it takes little imagination to visualise the ‘brownie points’ to be gained in going along with Fischler’s and the EU’s plan that Britain should be non-livestock producing area, by maximising the number of animals which can be killed. This fits in nicely with MAFF’s mindset on killing rather than curing to solve a disease problem. But to kill a healthy animal except for its proper purpose, is illegal, and upwards of 95% of all animals killed showed no clinical signs of the disease, and were therefore perfectly healthy, were no risk to human health and therefore were killed illegally, and what is worse in the most bestial manner imaginable.   A situation when challenged in law demonstrated how it sided with officialdom, bringing the judicial system itself into disrepute as being biased and under the thumb of Government. A situation which in the USA would have landed them in front of the Supreme Court.  All we have here are motions of censure and public enquiries both of which can be blocked by large political majorities. 
Some justice !  Government by a tissue of lies. 
Which brings us to the other two, previous health related public scares, which cannot be ignored in the context of my series of articles on The Killing Fields already published. For the same accusations of dishonesty and subversion apply equally. The parallels are stark, the damage alone and wastage of money astronomical, and all on the basis of concocted hypothesises by unscrupulous scientists for egotistical and self-esteem purposes. The Government stands condemned in MAFF’s total inability or refusal to differentiate between and accept truth as opposed to lies.  This was more stark in the case of eggs, with MAFF’s total inability to comprehend any logical explanation for the increasing incidents of food poisoning in the ‘80s to worrying levels. That is until it became apparent that it appeared to be particularly associated with egg containing dishes in mass catering situations. Then co-incidentally up popped Edwina Currie with her infamous lie that all eggs were contaminated with Salmonella. Who put her up to it we don’t know, but it cost her her job and the damage was done. The Press and Media always hungry for a sensational story especially if against farmers, went ballistic, and a full scale health scare was compounded. The Government was in a frenzy and with MAFF having got its living scapegoat, the hen, rushed into criminal legislation which was deemed to be illegal. MAFF with its mindset on killing slaughtered millions of perfectly healthy hens in the most bestial manner imaginable, just as with animals in this F&MD. And all based on a tissue of lies derived from fake and deliberately dishonest experimentation and interpretation by the Government’s own Public Health Laboratory Service itself in desperate need of work and funding which in consequence it acquired in plenty.   
The United Kingdom Egg Producers Association fought it vigorously, with the invaluable support of Richard North but was not rich or powerful enough to pursue it to a successful conclusion. The BEIC (of Lion Eggs!) who supported the Government and its lies for selfish commercialism that the legislation would eliminate all its independent egg producer competitors and thereby give them a total monopoly. It did not succeed, but its aim supported by the equally fallacious medical officers of Health’s warning, is still in place today in the Lion Egg Campaign which claims are so dishonest that they amount to nothing less than fraud in relation to the producers of their eggs or libellous and slanderous against all independent egg producers of all sizes.  To compound that we now have rampant, idiotic, senseless legislation pouring out of Brussels which threatens to do just what the BEIC has failed to do, spell the destruction of ALL independent egg producers giving the BEIC its craved for monopoly.  
  The true facts, substantiated by some of the country’s top most and prestigious scientists, specialists in this field, are simple and have been presented to the Government continually since the beginning but who stubbornly refused to listen let alone heed. The problem has nothing whatsoever to do with eggs but everything to do with modern foods their handling together with peoples eating habits and lazy sedentary life styles which are not commensurate with what the human body requires for the way it has been created, resulting in poorly nourished diminished immune systems and therefore greater susceptibility to what are basically natural everyday and necessary health challenges.
   Similarly with the egg which has been created for over 250m years for the sole purpose of producing a perfectly healthy germ free chick under any conceivable natural condition, and its success is there for all to see, the best example are sea gulls in heavily contaminated nesting sites, from birds which are heavily infected with salmonellas and no shortage of them !
If the Government's lie about eggs was even remotely feasible there could be NO birds. Nothing could be sillier! Except officialdom of course who perpetuated these lies.
  Which brings us to BSE in essence a much simpler catastrophe based on totally unsustainable hypothesis cooked up by the same strain of irresponsible scientists, swallowed by the Government for its own nefarious agendas and once again lapped up by the Press and Media and compounded by ill-conceived legislation, once again to the ruination of farming and its reputation.
  Fifty years of research have failed to find or detect any kind of transmissible agent in Scrapie of sheep, which is the same as BSE in cattle and CJD in humans and Crazy Chick disease in young chicks. The proper name is Encephalopathy. Current experimentation with mice is in the same order and as false as the fake experiments with eggs, and the interpretations just as irresponsibly false.  Top brain scientists like Dr. Michael Crawford advised the Government it was a nutritional disorder of the brain which triggers its self-destruction, and nothing whatsoever to do with any infectivity.  As with salmonella it was dismissed out of hand, as a result British Farmers were slandered and betrayed world-wide by the ensuing tissue of lies. Now that has been transcended by a madness which puts Edwina Currie in the shade.  On the basis of some far fetched theory that sheep can now cause CJD by one of Blair’s lackey scientists, incidentally on whose advice the fiasco of the F&MD policy lies, has the Government has put the whole of this country’s sheep population under threat of extinction.
 To that the Government have responded with a contingency plan for the disposal of 40m sheep to begin with.  Brownie points galore.  If that isn’t the ultimate in lunacy then I shudder to think what is?
  So for the record, and in repetition for which I make no apology the BSE outbreak in cattle is traceable to cattle feed on rations deficient in essential fatty acids, and perhaps other trace elements. The same condition (called Spongiform encopalophy) is found in chicks called Crazy Chick Disease and because they are so young by correcting the diet they recover. To demonstrate that any transmissible agent is readily identifiable, another of the same is Epidemic Tremors in chicks which is caused by a virus for which there is an extremely effective vaccine. That is the truth; the rest is fiction, indeed a Tissue of Lies.

    The cost to the country as a whole, and farming in particular is astronomically incalculable.  The whole country suffers from the loss of benefits which could have accrued, not just now but in perpetuity from the money which has been wasted and the hardships ultimately caused by Blair and his cronies.

Update and Conclusions

The purpose of this series of articles is to document and expose the wanton destruction, particularly in the light of the way this FMD fiasco has unfolded caused as a result of MAFF's mindset policy of indiscriminate killing. A policy inherent since the Rhindopest outbreak in the 1800's, and perhaps even further back, a policy to which any change of attitude would to then be akin to sacrilege. To expose the way professional and commercial bodies have created and then exploited all these scandals, and with government, manipulate each and every scenario for egotistical gain. To expose the subversiveness and ineptitude of all governments but especially this, undoubtedly the nastiest of any. To expose the lies and innuendo associated with both politically created food/health scares. To expose the discreditable manner in which the FMD fiasco was created and the bestial manner in which it has been escalated into a national disaster, and to pose the question - what for? What for indeed - to gain brownie points towards exalted status in the E.U. at this country's expense, the destruction of farming and our countryside.

To highlight the appalling manner in which the press and media have dealt with the situation, being interested only in maximizing the scare aspect, which sells newsprint and air time. This to total exclusion of the truth irrespective of any amount of 'badgering' from renowned world experts. They first did not want to know, although at times it seemed there were underhanded even subversive forces at work.
However there are now some encouraging signs of a wind of change blowing with some quite critical items, in particular the broadcast on both TV channels in prime time of Dr George Venters condemnation of the B.S.E. scandal on epidemiological grounds alone. The chief medical officer of health for the Lanark NHS Trust, he overcame extreme opposition both from the BMA and the Lancet, condemning the scare as an epidemic that never was.

Summary

1.      Salmonella arose out of MAFF's ineptitude in being totally unable to explain the rise in food poisoning in the 80's Edwina Currie turned it into a national health scare and the government panicked, and its advising body the PHLS (public health laboratory service) for its own nefarious ends produced totally false results from totally inept and dishonest experimentation upon which the whole totally false heath warning about eggs is based, but which is a biological impossibility, since for hundred of millions of years eggs have done exactly what nature intended them for - the production of perfectly healthy germ free chicks. The egg itself offering complete protection from all natural challenge, which of course includes all bacterial challenges from nesting sites, seagulls being the best example. It also has the perfect food source for the developing chick. So what better or safer food than that, and MAFF and the government refused to listen, indeed rejected it out of hand. What is even worse is that that scenario has been manipulated commercially in the 'Lion Egg' campaign to make claims for their birds trends in their organization which are so false that they amount to fraud, libel and slander, for there is nothing man can do to improve on what nature has done for all those millions of years, The salmonella vaccination claims are no more than expensive commercial gimmick. The similiar accusations can be levelled at the latest report from the microbiological safety of food committee which is nothing more than a multi-million pound fiasco, being no more than a catalogue of meaningless bureaucratic platitudes once again suppressing the original Heather Dick report which is kept under tight wraps because of its honesty.

2.      BSE/CJD As Dr George Venters put it - an epidemic that never was. A politically created health scare, escalated into Europe for, once again, whatever nefarious reason one can hardly contemplate, accept the destruction of our livestock farming. The human connection is based on nothing but conjecture, created for selfish ambition by unscrupulous scientists to make a living out of public funding. A course forced on them because Margaret Thatcher cancelled generalised funding for fundamental research a most reprehensible action leading to what we have today. The government was well advised by world scientists that BSE was caused by dietary deficiency causing a malfunction of the brain and the only connection was the symptoms were similar. The BSE outbreak was caused by the use of computerised compound rations containing meat and bone meal, notoriously deficient in essential fatty acids, being the cheapest source of protein, but not supplemented with the essential missing elements. As the computerisation of rations spread north so did BSE. There is the same condition in very young chicks but because they are so young by correcting the diet the condition is reversible. Yes a simple dietary deficiency or imbalance, or any other factor, which can affect the nutrition of the brain or immune system, a condition specific only to each and every individual.

3.      F.M.D A national disaster which could and should never have been, but for a very vigilant and chance observation in a herd of pigs, which some weeks before had shown no clinical signs when inspected by MAFF and bearing in mind pigs are highly resistant to the disease, in fact some 160 times more than other animals. There is little doubt now, that from widespread sourced of information, FMD has been endemic, just like the common cold is endemic, since 1967 and it would seem known about. Which is where political intrigue entered and with the enthusiastic help of the press and media it became the national scandal it has. A scandal, it is with 95% of over 12 million killed, being perfectly healthy and of the remainder some will have recovered and become immune, most would recover naturally or with treatment or could have been prevented by vaccination. But why the sudden apparent "flare up". Largely, I suspect, because it was being looked for but mainly due to the animals, mostly sheep, being ill fed on heavily over-stocked poor marginal grazings resulting in deterioration of the immune systems, allowing any disease present to develop. Which is almost certainly why it has not developed in good farming areas where stock are well fed, and almost certainly why Scotland is clean, as there is no over stocking.

Conclusion 
In each of these cases it is only too patently obvious that there has been inexcusable political blundering, dishonesty, intrigue, subversion and indeed corruption from the lowest to the highest level aided and abetted by professional and commercial exploitation and egotism.
In the case of salmonella and eggs, rooted in and as a result of extreme selective breeding, MAFF's stupidity and PHLS discreditable, dishonest and utterly meaningless experimentation. A total failure to accept indeed to reject totally indisputable facts of life that nature has given the egg all the protection it needs in life and to contain all the nutrition required to produce a healthy chick. In that regard there is nothing man can do to improve on that, and its safety as a food is unequivocal. The total failure to accept that where as eggs are virtually and largely sterile once broken out and the yoke broken the product becomes potentially one of the most risky in the kitchen. This is opportunism by the PHLS and is of the worst kind to capitalise on the situation by obtaining government funding for the express purpose of refurbishing what had become no more than a little used run down government quango    
In the case of BSE fifty years of research has failed to establish any link with CJD except in the way they are classified, but there is a clear individual link with nutritional deficiencies and imbalances affecting both the immune system and the brain, resulting in a terminal malfunction of the brain. The BSE outbreak, which started in the S.W. of England was due entirely to a faulty computer produced ration, fed to and required by intensively kept, mainly dairy cattle. The prion theory is little more than that.
The FMD crisis is an epidemic that never was. A politically created scandal of the most extreme magnitude, in connivance with the EU out of spite to destroy British, especially livestock farming and to gain brownie points in the EU political ladder. 95% of all of the 12 million + animals killed were perfectly healthy. The remaining were recovering, were treatable or were preventable The astronomical waste of tens of billions of £'s, which could have been used, especially in the medical sector, for the betterment of the population, not just now but in perpetuity, is nothing short of being treasonable, as is of course the association with that very EU.
The indictment of the government is total. The information on the web is astronomical. How to deal with this situation is not just difficult, but staggeringly frustrating and complex. I am involved in initiating the foundation of an independent organization to tackle this problem of Rural Britain- on a nationwide scale to encompass all aspects and problem of Rural Britain, powerful enough to compel authoritarianism to not only take notice but to take the appropriate action. To that end, maximum support from everyone affected and involved and even concerned is absolutely vital to save our farming and countryside as a whole from the evil with which it is now afflicted.

E U Gossip - or is it ?
Or perhaps a window into the Inner echelons of the EU

In my articles "The Killing Fields" I recorded information I had received to the effect that Franz Fischler, the Agricultural Commissioner had let it be known that there was a proposal that Britain should be a non-livestock producing country. Turns out that it was not a policy but merely committee room chit-chat, picked up by some unknown reporter or whatever, who escalated it out of all proportion. That may be so, and I was certainly misled but there may be more to that than meets the eye, for that it was said at all leaves a nasty taste in the mouth, but it does open up a window into the inner workings of the EU. Into the way things are run, or perhaps more accurately how things happen, which seems to be the case.
     Government as we know and understand it , just does not exist in Brussels or wherever. Nobody is really in charge let alone accountable. There are Committees for this and that, advisory bodies for this and that but nobody with a position of responsibility. Just one great big vacuum, with every Tom Dick and Harry with a finger in the pie, all horse-trading with one another for their own pet agendas.
     But a vacuum cannot exist in real life and something or someone has to fill it and those someone's it turns out are the civil service beurocrats and for that matter anyone with an axe to grind, which includes politicians. Yes a real live "Yes Prime Minister" scenario running the EU for even the European parliament is no more than a glorified talking shop. And it goes something like this.
     The civil service is presented with a problem, which is their job so they set about producing an agenda to solve that problem which they take to the appropriate Minister. He looks at it and holds his hands up in horror, and tells them to go away and try again, they go away but not to try again but to pack their brief case and hi-tail it to Brussels, where they find a kindred spirit. No problem old boy he says, first leave it with us, we'll draw up the appropriate legislation, which you can take back to Whitehall, where you can implement it with the full authority of the EU, and the appropriate minister has no power to do anything about it. At least he won't in his country.
     So there we have it, but what can be done about it?
     Frankly nothing for there is no mechanism within Europe which can deal with that situation and because Governments can and do take advantage of  that situation there is no way things can be changed in this country until we get the hell out of the EU before it destroys us.
     Therein lies the next problem, which is to get the real truth out into the open  in a manner, which will be acceptable to the brainwashed urban populations. But truth is a commodity which is in very short supply these days and to admit  one is wrong is an anathema of this modern society and no more so than in politics and journalism.
Which brings me to my final point. Unless one can own up to ones mistakes and take measures to put things right, which is what I have done regarding Franz Fischler, then one has no credibility, especially in regard to Agriculture in general and farming in particular.
     To deal with that there is only one party large enough and potentially strong enough with the right background and that is the Conservative party, but it will only get its credibility back when it publicly and unequivocally admits it got it wrong, badly wrong, but because of that it would then with hindsight be bale to set about putting matters right.
     The one big blunder was taking us into Europe, not just as a trading partner which was acceptable, but a fully integrated member which was totally against our constitution and therefore technically an act of High Treason. The People of this country need to know.

The Great BSE Hoax.

The Scourge of British Farming.

    This crisis over fallen animals is a crisis which should never have been, but for the flagrant mishandling of the BSE crisis, which has blown up into a health hazard that never was. It gave rise to panic legislation which was divorced from reality, showing a dereliction of duty and responsibility of criminal proportions, by failing deliberately to take account of all the evidence available on all the encopalophies, and acting on only one aspect, the hypothetical one of transmissibility favoured by the government funded scientists as opposed to other evidence by world renowned scientists that it is entirely a nutritional disorder, to put it in its simplest terms.

    The theory that if one eats meat from an animal developing BSE one can get CJD, or as they call it n.v. because new techniques enable them to detect slight variations in the diagnosis of these encopalophies as they are called, variations, which have probably existed all along.

    The disease is caused by a malfunction within the brain cells, the proper function of which is dependant on the part the prions play in transmitting “ messages” from the brain to the nerve endings. Each cell is surrounded by a protective tissue and the whole nervous system by a second layer of tissue and sponge-like spaces which is the blood brain barrier, and also a physical protective barrier. Thus there is a double barrier to keep out “ foreign bodies and particles” of all kind. The whole is a fatty conglomerate dependant on the proper supply of fatty acids especially Omega 3, without which the system breaks down, and Encepalopathies develop. The system can also be disrupted by other factors which may “trigger” a malfunction. E.g. O.P’s, auto immune system responses, genetic factors and other nutritional factors e.g. excess manganese, which create an imbalance in the brain’s nutrition. These are all under investigation and are extremely rare and specific to particular circumstances and individuals. Statistics over a long period of time show the occurrences of these encepalophies is little or no different from many other naturally occurring abnormalities.

     The theory that one can get CJD by eating mammalian material which may, or indeed almost certainly will contain abnormal prions beggars belief. That they would have to multiply and survive the digestive process which is powerful enough to break down all edible organic material, then get into the blood streams and penetrate the blood brain barrier, not only has never been scientifically proven but also defies all logic.

     The digestive activity of the rumen actually destroys these fatty acids in Meat and Bone meal, which makes it an unsatisfactory feedstuff for ruminants, but this has nothing to do with the false issue of its safety as a feedstuff. Thus its use was entirely irresponsible of the compounders. And this was compounded by the feeding of young leafy grass without seed heads from which the animals can get Omega 3, likewise the omission of Soya. This then was the root cause of the BSE outbreak which resulted in the catastrophic politically created crisis.

This nutritional efficiency effect is clearly demonstrated by very young chicks which may develop epidemic tremors (another encepalopothy) when if the diet is corrected, recover spontaneously.

     All the evidence demonstrates quite clearly that it is a nutritional disorder which is the prime cause of these encephalopies. Dr. Michael Crawford of the Institute of Brain Chemistry of the University of N London informed the Government right at the onset of the supposed problem, but this was totally ignored. Natural transmissibility has never been proven, and Mordun Institute of Edinburgh has long been working on that for over 50 years without success on scrapie in sheep. They also don’t agree with the transmissible prion theory. Many other top scientists and others have followed with similar information all to no avail.

    It is patently clear the whole crisis was bogus and politically created from the start with no justification for the resultant legislation and even less justification for it to continue.

That is the indictment on the Government’s incompetence. It resulted in the banning of the rendering down of all dead animals into a perfectly safe nutritious feed, a method which was in effect self-financing.  The alternative is incineration, which is too expensive for farmers to afford @ £100 per animal, or burying which was the only option. Now that has been removed on the grounds that the supposed seepage is a pollution / health hazard, once again theory without any real proof. The result is the dumping of dead animals, which is totally unacceptable but unavoidable and inevitable, since our Government unlike the French refuse to subsidise incineration which in itself is not in the farmer’s interest but supposedly in the interest of public health and causes serious air pollution.

     The solution is of course to repeal the Mammalian By-product order banning the production and use of meat and bone meal. But that is now EU law and is political and any talk about BSE/CJD and the Commissioners get a silly glassy eyed look and become stone deaf. So there we have it, a silly fake health scare just like salmonella and eggs before it, and coupled with the false F & M crisis, which should never have been, a colossal wastage of public money amounting to many tens of billions of pounds and extending into the future. There is the other aspect that because of the ban on  M&B has meant that fishmeal has to be used instead, where for nutritional purposes this is essential, placing a totally unnecessary burden on the already depleted fish stocks.

     The animal body has a remarkable propensity to deal with harmful challenges, indeed these challenges are vital to sustain the immune system in good order. To that end a properly balanced diet is paramount. Thus it is with all these encepalopathies, and to date there is no sound practical scientific or statistical evidence that BSE has any relevance to CJD, other than its overall classification. The connection is all in the minds of those so called research scientists who rely on that sort of connection to panic politicians into panic decisions in order that they may obtain public funding for their lifestyles since Margaret Thatcher withdrew all public funding for such work. That in itself is essential but that is as far as it should go until finally proven to be of benefit. Such panic drives politicians ballistic and down the road to penal legislation such as in this case, and of the Salmonella and eggs fiasco, neither of which has saved a single life or illness but caused immeasurable damage both directly and indirectly.

     This Mammalian By-Products order must be repealed now before it does any more harm to individuals and the environment, and the astronomical cost saved put towards the more important job of saving lives in the NHS. A national outcry against this senseless order is what is called for to bring back common sense by as many people and in as many venues as possible.  In the process hopefully, the information revealed will help to heal the politically created rift between town and farming.

          BSE and other encephalopathies

The trick being to find something new scientifically, especially in the way the body works and twist it into a problem health scare as a fund-raising project   At or about the same time as Edwina Currie falsely blamed eggs instead of broilers for the increasing incidence of salmonella food poisoning, Margaret Thatcher in her so called political wisdom banned all automatic funding of fundamental research unless it was a politically acceptable issue. Between them they, thoughtlessly, unleashed a monster which is reverberating to this day.      To be fair, scientists were placed in an invidious situation, for the only way they could secure funding for their chosen careers, was to create a situation which demanded political action and more and more research into the problems. So what better way than to create a public health scare, irrespective of its ethics, or of the consequences of their actions in the widest field.

Tom Humphries and his P H L S set the scene very successfully with eggs and salmonella by producing misleading but politically acceptable evidence, and into it fell the B S E – C J D fiascos, and now the B S E scrapie issue, and so it will go on as just to keep the pot boiling.
So it is time, in fact long overdue, when the whole issue was addressed and forced out into the open politically as well as scientifically and statistically. Now at last seems to be the appropriate time when people in general are becoming increasingly aware of and asking questions about the very apparent dishonesty in politics. A situation about which we have been aware of since Edwina Currie when the original  report by the Heather Dick Committee which virtually exonerated eggs, was deliberately suppressed in favour of one prepared by government which was politically acceptable falsely blaming eggs and the producers. Investigations are now undergoing to find and publicise that report. In line with this misconception, this paper is for the purpose of exposing the truth about B S E, its relation to other encephalopathies and the false unproven Prion theory, upon which the whole issue is based. Likewise it must be condemned for causing the ridiculous 30 month rule with its attendant effect on exports, and creating the farce about carcase disposal. This therefore falls into three categories, the purely scientific, the field or on farm and the statistically. 
        First the purely scientific aspect that it is claimed it is transmissible.  Transmissibility implies an infectious cause in which an infectious agent enters a tissue or a cell and replicates itself – either as a free living organism or by reorganising the internal workings of a cell so that the components of the agent are produced by cell systems (as in viruses). These components are assembled in the cell and become infective viruses. Prions do not work like this. The normal prion  is a protein molecule and is a component of some cells.  The “infection” theory is that deformed prion protein molecules enter brain cells and convert normal prion into the “infectious” form and it becomes the main type of prion the cell then produces. This then spreads throughout the nervous system and causes diseases such as BSE or CJD.  How these deformed prions convert normal prions into abnormal prions is a mystery and this represents an entirely novel concept of infection in consistent with any recognised type of infection. 
Normal prion molecules are incorporated into the membranes in cells and form part of the packaging system which allows nerve cells to transport substances from its centre to its surface. Nerve cells interact with each other by releasing packets of chemicals called neurotransmitters at special sites on their cell surfaces. For transport and release of these neurotransmitters the cell needs healthy membranes and the main components of these membranes are lipids. Essential types of lipids are Omega 3 fatty acids and these are important to produce membranes which allow proteins to attach to them.  If proteins cannot attach to cell membranes then they may accumulate in the cell and form clumps which may affect the normal functioning of the cell.  Large clumps of abnormal prion protein form in BSE and CJD. So it is clear that Omega 3 fatty acid deficiencies play a vital part in these diseases as is evident from discussions below. Protein particles cannot multiply, therefore prions which are protein particles, cannot multiply like any known infective agent although they can of course regenerate. 
The field evidence indicates that it is feed related. The epidemiology of detected cases shows that there are major problems with the supposed causal link between BSE and CJD or this dubious new CJD. A more credible explanation is that the new variant represents the rediscovery of an extremely rare but long established illness only detected because of the high levels of recent interest in brain disease and its investigation in an Edinburgh based laboratory. This may help explain the paradox of the incidence of BSE in relation to variant CJD. vCJD  is more prevalent in the North of the UK  whereas BSE is concentrated in the South and Midlands. This does not tie in with the infectivity claims in any way at all, but it does tie-in with the way the animals were and are fed.  Strip grazing on young leafy grass is common in the South whereas in the North grazing is on more mature pastures, the significance being that it is only in the mature pastures that seed heads are present and it is those which provide the essential fatty acids absent in young grass. 
This is where the problem with the faulty supplementary feeding arose, for it didn’t matter in the North when the EFA were supplied in the grazing but in the South the effect was catastrophic. The reason being that the EFA of animal origin are i.e is in M&B, not stable enough to withstand the rumination process and are destroyed. That is why those cows were the only source of protein was M&B bound to be totally deficient of EFAs. This did not happen when the compound feed contained full fat Soya for EFAs of cereals are stable and not destroyed in the rumen. A clear condemnation of the feed compounders for their carelessness in formulating the ration. 

 Citing the example of the Zoo Antelopes which suffered exactly the same problems as the cows, Dr. Michael Crawford advised the Government in a paper to the committee on BSE in the House of Commons dated 10th July 1990, to test the cows for Omega 3 as they did the Antelopes, which were found to be totally deficient.  
This is well documented in data from tests carried out in Japan and Ruakuru where cows put onto a non grazing intensive diet resulted in a loss of EFAs. It is also significant that there is no BSE in New Zealand and Scotland where cows are grazed extensively on pasture. 
There is a clear similarity with crazy chick disease which is well documented, being caused by the same nutritional deficiency and when rectified the problem disappeared and indeed the chocks recovered. So much so that the situation can be reversed and replicated. 
Likewise on one farm where several cows had died of BSE the rest were put to pasture and the problem was solved. However there are other causes of encephalopathy . In the case of chicks it is epidemic tremors caused by a virus which has been successfully and virtually eliminated by the use of a vaccine on the parent females before lay.

Lastly in this section there is another cause of such brain disorders which is caused by immunological responses in the brain. After Pasteur started immunising people against rabies it was noticed that a few cases went on to develop a progressive lethal neurological disease. This was shown to have been caused by the patients’ own immune systems developing antibodies to brain tissue and destroying it. This kind of auto-immune response may cause the kind of spongiform encephalopathies found in BSE and CJD. A common soil bacterium can evoke antibodies which react with brain tissue in animals. These antibodies can be detected in BSE affected animals and also in sufferers of multiple sclerosis in humans. This connection was being investigated by Prof. Ebringer because he had noticed a remarkable similarity in the symptoms in both cows and humans. He was well on the way to a conclusion when his MAFF grant ran out and re-applied for a continuation. This was rejected by Margaret Beckett since his research threatened to undermine Government policy on Food Safety, for he also suggests there is no links between BSE and nvCJD ( Ref. Magnus Linklater The Times April 24th 2003. ) This resulted in his work ceasing, his laboratory being closedown, and himself retiring from science altogether because he was so disillusioned and found there was no longer any interest in his work. This surely is reprehensible, because from a scientific point of view, alternative hypotheses should be tested to the limit. Politically of course, his work challenged the high-flying Nobel Prize winner Prof. Pusiner’s prion theory and that is a No No in politics because without challenge it is upon that which the whole of the BSE legislation is founded together with the resultant bureaucracy. 
Statistically the gloomy prognostications of those same scientists, civil servants and politicians have not materialised. Indeed quite the contrary for the incidence of both BSE and CJD have declined as also has salmonella in a predicted natural decline. 

Conclusions.

        The evidence of dishonesty, collusion, subversion and downright corruption let alone monumental ignorance is overwhelming against all those involved especially those responsible for the initial creation of all three disasters, be they scientists, politicians, news editors, and others giving vent against farming all with axes to grind, as exemplified below and only too well reported usually in a very biased manner.

Salmonella and eggs by suppressing the initial report of the Heather Dick committee which virtually, for all practical purposes, cleared eggs of any blame

BSE / CJD saga by refusing to listen to, let alone investigate, all the Peer Reviewed evidence worldwide which was presented to them, that the only logical explanation was a nutritional deficiency of Eras.

Instead they poured millions of £s into a fruitless effort in trying to authenticate their Prion Theory which gave them the excuse for persecuting, damaging and even destroying farming especially livestock farming and its farmers.

   Crass irresponsibility can also be levied against the compounders who supplied the feed for negligence in the formulation of their rations when computerised.

Likewise the NFU whose job is to fight for the right of farmers, failed to do so by failing to carryout a proper investigation into the matter, in spite of having all the relevant information, instead of giving bland support to the Government. It begs the question what subversive forces are operating behind the scenes to account for such irresponsibility ?

    Perhaps the reason behind it all is the realisation that to have to admit the Prion Theory was a fake would have laid all those involved wide open to massive claims for damages and in the process destroying the very integrity of their reputations ?

What is really behind this whole sordid business has been exposed in a report by Sir Don Currie, hurriedly commissioned by DEFRA in a panic response to the publication of Scotland’s Forward Strategy for farming and the countryside. It stated that in Scotland, farming and the food industry had an important role to play in the rural economy, and that farmers were the trusted custodians of the countryside. The contrary attitude south of the Border has resulted in the decimation of farming as we know it throughout the UK as a whole. Farmers, the  Currie report lectured, are accused of destroying the countryside, which is not about farming any more but the environment. In other words as a playground for the urban population being the majority of voters, being influenced by a multiplicity of activist lobby and self-interest groups and influential individuals.

Foot and Mouth, for example, with no human health connections, the most horrendous of them all for it had no foundation being based on falsely created information implicating one pig farmer, who in relation to the facts couldn’t possibly have had it. The accusation was that he used infected uncooked swill from a source which has not been identified - swill which came from his neighbour, Willie Brown, who used the same swill but did not get F&M.

Given the infectiousness of the disease which is claimed officially to be very virulent, the possibility of this is extremely remote.

If Bobby Waugh the farmer did have it then, with the amount of virus pigs exhale, almost 100 times more than other animals, then every farm round about would have been infected, but the nearest suspect was 5 miles away.

The relevance of that in this case is to demonstrate again the total dishonesty and connivance of Government and its officials for there is no other credible explanation than it was deliberately created. Likewise its claimed rapid spread through sheep is not in any practical sense feasible, recognised as being on a nose to nose basis.

That proper research was not carried out in an honest and professional manner must be an indictable offence against all those responsible.

Had it been, none of the three catastrophes would have occurred, millions of animals would have been saved, hundreds of billions of £s put to better use, and farming would not be in the bitter state it is. The dead animals issue would not have happened neither would the massive overburden of senseless regulations materialised.

Finally in the same vein is the outrageous situation relating to white asbestos, which is being dealt with by the Asbestos Watchdog demonstrating what a catalogue of pure unadulterated corruption both officially and commercially it really is.

I hope it is not a forlorn hope that this paper prepared in close cooperation with those listed below will set the ball rolling to put matters to rights, retribution made, and the ever increasing amount of senseless bureaucracy and consequent wastage of money stopped before it cripples and destroys the nation as a whole, for this is obviously a European issue as well since it is founded in the Brussels hierarchy.

This whole sordid business is long overdue to be exposed for all to see, for, as is exemplified by the way Prof. Ebringer was treated, political integrity cannot be called into question at any price no matter what the consequence might be.
